Bovada scammed me on a tennis bet

the player i bet on won the first set then it was 4-4 in the second when the other player got injured and couldn’t continue. my player advances on and they call it a push and refuse to pay me.

they are saying the player was injured not disqualified. so by this logic the player losing can be a point frmo winning the match and the quit or have an injury and it will be a draw.
these are their rules below.

If a player is disqualified after the start of the match and the opposing player/team progresses to the next round or is awarded the victory, the opposing player/team will be deemed the winner for settlement purposes.

The way Bovada settles tennis is different from other books. I’m familiar with other books paying out the way you expected but at Bovada, the injury would usually result in a draw on both sides of the bet.

it just doesnt make any sense at all. thats what they’re saying even though their own rules say otherwise. but they choose to pay if a player is disqualified i guess as in they throw a fit or something and get kicked off teh court but now when injured. it’s pretty criminal if you ask me. player i bet on was on their way to winning the match.

this is how it has always been

most sports book would consider this wager as VOID as the outcome was not determined

what if your player went to lose 2nd and 3rd set?

other sports books i play on consider it a win. the player progresses and more than 1 set was completed.

Not super familiar with tennis but if it’s like a tourney and the player you picked moves on, it absolutely should be a W. That’s like in march madness if one team couldn’t finish a game for whatever reason, injuries or whatever and the other team advanced. By definition they won

it really seems insane to me. i feel like if the player i bet on got injured they’d have called it a loss. their own rules go against their ruling.

I don’t like it either. I had a situation where in the second set the player got broken and then declared a med timeout and said I have abdominal pain and retired. they were 100% going to lose.

thats even more ridiculous than mine :expressionless: i’d be even more annoyed. the rule isn’t clear at all and it really makes no sense. there is no edge in a player being injured.

They have to void the weather for obvious reasons
Anything can happen in sports
People have won down two sets in U.S. Open

Sportsbook does not run on assumptions they run on results

where did you get that it was teh weather?

I meant the wager

Can I please have the wager number? We’ll check this as well.

that makes no sense. the player i bet on was up a set and other player was injured. if a fighter is injured or a team player is injured that doesn’t void anything. their own rules say that if a player is disqualified then the player who advances wins. it wasn’t a walkover, if it had of been i’d understand that or even if they had a rule about it needing to go one set at least like another site. but their own rules go against how they handle this.

Here are the Tennis Betting Rules. From what I see Mikael Ymer was not disqualified but retired because of injury. Based on our rules the wager should be voided as the outcome was not determined.

Same thing going to happen to me right now

But yes that’s what the rules are

Just sucks that the opponent should man up and take the loss instead of walkover
