Need wager settlement help - IPL Finals

Ref. 23051745966904
Ref. 23051745523051
Ref. 23051745966671

These need to be voided due to CSK getting max of 15 out of 20 overs… that’s less than 80%.

Checking on the wager right now.

Only 15 overs were given to the 2nd batting team out of the 20 overs they should get.

Reason is RAIN

15/20 = 75%… less than 80%

With regard to wager 23051745966671
Gujarat which lost and they played out their full 20 innings. Other team had reduced innings.

The other 2 wagers were settled as per rule 28:

  1. Top Team Batsman/Bowler & Team To Win: All bets will be settled on the official match result. Where no official result is declared, all bets will be made void. Dead-heat rules apply.

a. In limited overs matches, at least 50% of the team’s scheduled overs must be bowled for wagers to have action. Super overs do not count.

b. In First Class matches, only the first innings of each team will apply. Bets will be void if fewer than 50 overs of the specified team’s innings have been bowled, unless the first innings have already been completed.

23051745522958 this was graded as a PUSH

so

at least 23051745966671 must be graded as a PUSH as well. It’s currently graded as a loss.

These 2 wagers fall under RULE 34 → One of the teams didn’t get 80% or more overs. So the results could have changed.

This was discussed with sports and what I posted above was their reply and reasoning for the settlements.

23051745522958 this was graded as a PUSH
As 23051745522958 was graded as a PUSH
at least 23051745966671 must be graded as a PUSH as well.

Check on this one please.

I will ask them to check this again

Ok with regard to 23051745966671
They lost and had completed all of their innings.

But ask them to check Rule 34B. One of the teams didn’t get more than 75% of their overs. So the bet needs to be VOID.

or, ask them to reword the rules. The current rules (Rule 34B) says that the bet needs to be voided.

Yes, but with the void wager it was made void due to the overs not being played.
The one that was not void which was 23051745966671 lost because Gujarat lost, this is the difference. All their overs were played so they could not possible have won.

Had it been a 20 over game, and CSK chasing 215 in 20 overs → there is a chance that CSK would have lost as well.

So your logic doesn’t make real sense.

Rule 34B states that if EITHER of the teams do not get to play more than 80% of the overs, it’s a VOID.

You have 2 conditions to win the wager.
This is the team to win and both to score 180.

In 23051745522958 the team won, however only 15 overs were played, hence the void.

In 23051745966671 the team lost and had already completed their 20 overs, so the wager was already a loss irrespective of the early stoppage. They could not have won.
Even if 20 overs were completed then the wager will still have lost.

Even if 20 overs were completed then the wager will still have lost.

You cannot say the above. We never know the result if CSK was chasing 215 in 20 overs. Anything could have happened.

I think you may not have solid understanding of cricket rules

I don’t care about the amount I lose here, but I feel it’s incorrect to void one bet and then grade the other as a loss. Rule 34b clearly says that the wagers need to be voided. SIMPLE

Rule 34b states that

b. In limited overs matches, bets will be void if it has not been possible to complete at least 80% of the scheduled overs in either innings due to external factors, including bad weather, unless settlement has been determined before the reduction.

Which in this case it had.

Which settlement was determined before the “reduction” of overs?

This is gonna be fun… let us know

CSK won by 5 wickets.
So the win part of the wager lost.
I’m sorry it lost but I can’t keep going over this.
The wagers were correctly settled, and this was also verified by the sports team.

Just to explain to you:

GT played its 20 overs (full quota). They scored 214 runs. This satisfies 1 of the 3 conditions.

Due to RAIN, CSK only got 75% of the 20 overs to play, and the TARGET was reduced from 215 to 171.

So, the reduction of overs happened before the result was determined.

so Rule 34B applies. 23051745966671 needs to be VOIDED…NOT graded as a LOSS.

Send this over to your sports team or give me their contact. Happy to talk to them.
