Wager Settlement Issues (Part 1)

The PGA link shows that the cutoff is at 139 which is what we are going by.

Its about how the cut line is defined. Everything I read says the cut line is the scores allowed to continue playing, which would be 138. But Bovada sports team is grading the cut line as the actual score that didn’t make the cut which would be 139.
Do you have access to look back at previous tours cut lines and the betting result for those by chance? Either way, I think it would be wise to define the cut line in the golf betting rules.

https://www.pga.com/archive/pga-championship-cut-rule-explained-who-makes-weekend
“In 2017, the cut line was 1-over, so the 75 players who shot 1-over or better through the first two rounds made the cut. The cut line was 2-over in 2015 and 2016.”
If you need more sources, where the cut line is clearly referred to as the worst score that is allowed to continue to golf, I can get you more. I have yet to find a single reference to a cut line that Bovada wants to define it as.

All it takes is one wrong person working in the Sports department to mess up and everyone rely on that one person’s answer to continuously be wrong until someone actually pushes the issue and asks for clarification.

The cut line at 36 holes is the top 65 players plus those tied at the end of that group. That’s the cut line rule for Wyndham. The wager has been reviewed a few times and it’s correctly settled.

Hahaha listen to what you just said. It’s the top 65 and ties that make the cut line. The top 65 and ties was -2, not -1….

By the definition you just put up there, -2 (138) is the cut line man.

@Mikey If Sports wants to continue acting like this is an industry norm grading, at the very least they can add a rule defining the “cut line” and how they will grade those in the future.

It is quite literally settled incorrectly. In order to continue playing you must finish either ON or ABOVE the cut line. Players who had 139 shots or finished -1 did NOT make that cut line therefore they did play on the weekend. The cut line is quite clearly 138 strokes or -2.

This is why during PGA broadcasts they say “he made the cut right on the number” when describing a player that had the minimum score necessary to play rounds 3 and 4.

This is being checked by the Sports Team.

This screenshot is from The official pga tour app. Final thing I’ll say.

“The following players failed to make the cut -2”

@moderators @Mikey_Bovada
I didnt notice the “Must Start Game 1 for Action” detail. I do not believe this player is projected to start game 1. I do not want “no action” if the player doesnt start however. I am okay if the player does not start. Is there any update to this wager that can be made so its not void if/when the player doesnt start? Or cancel this wager and place another without this stipulation?

Hi @CowboyCane12,

Just to be clear are you requesting to see if we can remove the Must Start stipulation for the wager?

Yes @Mikey

Thanks for confirming.

Unfortunately, we won’t be able to change the criteria for the wager, thanks for your patience.

Can someone create a new wager without that stipulation though? The player isnt starting so its going to be a voided bet
