Wager Settlement Issues (Part 1)

It’s just weird because you DO publish the sites for official results for some sports, why not elections?

How are “official sources” internal? That would seem to be definitionally not true… sources would be external.

How can you settle popular vote margins, acknowledging each state being officially “called” by Bovada, but not “call” the popular vote?

This is logically inconsistent. We are not trying to be jerks, but there are many reasons we need an idea on timing. If it is going to have to wait until every state certifies the election, just tell us that.

An example for why this matters: I have bonus funds that will be forfeit if I don’t hit my playthrough. If the bet won’t be settled until after my playthrough deadline, I have to deposit more funds to hit my playthrough. You guys are shooting yourselves in the foot here. Massive own goal.

Just tell us what you’re waiting for and be transparent. You can’t operate a book without transparently stating on what sources wagers will be settled.

Once all the states have completed the vote count we will have the wager settled.

Oh gee, thank you so much for posting the exact same thing that WE CAN ALL SEE!

That’s great, maybe you can explain to us all how you are able to settle:

-the winner of the election
-the winner and margins of the electorals

Without the popular vote being “official”?

We have no further details available regarding the settlement of outstanding election wagers. Please continue to monitor your account. Thank you kindly for your patience thus far.

You didn’t answer my question

Because we are unaware as to how some wagers were settled versus others not. The information that was provided to us was that all outstanding election wagers will be settled once we receive official information.

How about you do your job and forward the questions we are asking to the sports team

We will only be provided with the answer that I’ve provided to you earlier.

So escalate it further!

This is insane. Customers wager money on something that is pretty easy to tabulate, and bovada keeps up with the “because we say say bullish”

Still looking for an update on this one. I had another example this week of a parlay losing because of an ncaa hockey shootout loss (which is what I expected, since your rules say shootout results count) so you’re obviously counting shootouts as wins/losses, not as ties.

The Minnesota State game needs to be re-graded as a win and my parlay needs to be paid out at the full odds. Thanks!

Your wager was re-settled as a win.

If that’s directed at me, I’m not seeing that. It originally paid out at +3524 (11/9 10:04 pm). Then they unsettled it on 11/10 at 6:32 am and resettled it as a win at +2426 with the Minnesota State leg incorrectly graded as a push.

I just went back through my whole list of wagers and it hasn’t changed again. It needs to be paid out at the original +3524 odds.

Minnesota State leg was settled correctly as per results posted here.

There was a shootout that Minnesota State won.

Per your hockey rules, shootout results count. I lost bet 24112025695532 yesterday based on the results of a shootout, and bet 24112021251619 that same weekend.

The total was 1-1 after overtime, making the settlement correct.

I see what you’re saying. That site usually credits a team with a shootout win, but they have it wrong there. There was a shootout that Minnesota State won.

Here’s the official Minnesota State site’s article about the game:

https://msumavericks.com/news/2024/11/9/mens-hockey-mavericks-tommies-locked-1-1-in-ot-msu-takes-shootout.aspx
“Mavericks, Tommies Locked 1-1 in OT, MSU Takes Shootout”

St Thomas agrees:
https://tommiesports.com/news/2024/11/9/mens-hockey-tommies-take-a-point-from-a-tie-in-mankato.aspx
“The Mavericks took the extra point in the shootout.”

Do you have an official link that shows the extra point from the shootout? Cause as far as I can see, no one scored any point during the overtime period.
