Wager Settlements 2

This was settled already.

This wager was returned as cancelled as Sampi forfeited the second map due to a scheduling conflict as seen here: https://www.hltv.org/matches/2357862/aurora-vs-sampi-cct-central-europe-series-1

and rule 8 of the esports betting rules was quoted as the reason: “8. Match Markets – Wagers will be void if the number of maps are changed or differ from those offered for wagering purposes. If an event is not being completed, wagers will be void except for bets where the outcome is already known.”

However, the official results show a 2-0 victory for Aurora at the HLTV link above and Rule 1 states: “1. Settlement of wagers will be based on the official results as specified by the governing organization of the competition.”

Additionally, Rule 11 states: “11. In the scenario of one team surrendering, the match will be considered complete and all wagers will stand.”

I believe this has been incorrectly settled against those two clearly stated rules.

Rule 1 is simply to clarify that ultimately the ruling from a governing body is the results we will look at. In other words they decide whether a game is suspended, the score, results, etc. We still do then look at our other rules to actually grade the wager.

Rule 8 then does come prior to Rule 11 and stands if correct, which in this case it is.

Note that as well your wager was for the actual game 2 which was forfeited and defaults to Rule 8. Had this wager been on the entire match or a winner of the match it would only then even let Rule 11 come into play. This wager seems to be graded correctly unfortunately.

My bet was not for Map 2 it was for Aurora to win by 1.5 which they won officially 2-0. If Rule 8 ranks higher than rule 11, surely rule 1 is higher than rule 8.

The rules go in order of lowest to highest or what you would read first in terms of how they come into play.

Correct and 1 is the lowest…

Again 1 doesn’t apply here. It is simply to advise that governing bodies decide what happens in a game. In other words the results will be taken from the governing body. They then decided that the second match was forfeited, and we go from our own rules.

They decided that Aurora won 2-0.

Correct, they decided they won. Then we would grade by our rules in order which would default to Rule 8.

So for all the people betting on the Royals Sox game right now, if the Royals win you might just decide it doesn’t count?

Note that I am sorry but unfortunately we won’t be overturning this wager. The rules are intended that any map that is forfeited results in the wagers being void. Other players that wagered on Sampi would obviously not agree that this should be graded as a loss for them, and we have to take both sides into consideration.

But they lost? I don’t like when I lose either, but a loss is a loss. And a win is a win. They are clearly listed as 2-0. They won map 1 (16-6) and map 2 (1-0), both maps clearly listed with results. Official results don’t matter?

Bumping this as I’d like to get this resolved. Aurora has been listed as 2-0 winners of Round 1 on the official tournament page. Thanks!

We’ve already stated above that this won’t be getting overturned. We do understand you feel this is the wrong decision but ultimately it follows along with our rules. Maps or Match bets that are not completed are voided unless the wager is something where the result was already determined.

Could you settle this ref number for me please

@Ajans69 Already settled as a win. Congratulations!
@Mattcoxabm So sorry for your frustration. I think this was handled by the support agent.

Would love an explanation for why this is graded a loss. Tried live support but without much success.

I appreciate any help

Clearly the bet was Over 22 total games. And went well past that

This was already escalated by CS, and is pending for sports.

This was graded a loss: 22081578833117

It very well might be, but this final score isn’t posted anywhere yet on flash score/sofa score/live score/etc so I’m just curious what site Bovada used to grade this wager
