What’s the over/under on when bovada will be back up? Can we get a competition going mods?
Sarturday at 10am…
Reading all the comments is almost making this all worth it.
Almost but not really. Whats going on?
Agree with you 100% that shit from bovada Twitter is ridiculous!! Wth??? I understand it takes time but no time for jokes . I’m def not laughing
Hey its the start of bowl games today… Oh never mind.
You know. After they realized they were not making nfl second half. They got some sleep. Back working probably now or in a hour or so. I kid with saying saturday. But im hoping noon today. They should have created a plan last night to get it fixed before football. Fingers crossed
24 hours now this is insane. Ransomware?
A couple internet searches of “bovada down” has shown me this is a pretty consistent (almost systematic) occurrence. I wonder if at the end of the year Bovada gets inspected….me thinks the long down time is due to a large amount of fixes needed to the rigging of their games…ie. adding back missing reel combinations (winning ones obviously) and computing RNG to fit their numbers….this is pretty sketch, though we may see an uptick in “fairness” once they’re back online…if not just for the fact that there are a lot of angry customers…but yeah this seems like a yearly occurrence, find that hard to be a coincidence
It’s morning and the site is still down.
I guess we can expect another barrage of entitled whining posts from @Acehole72976
They are probably restoring from backup. These take time depending on the size of the data that is being restored
Just tweeting the same message…they have identified the issue just now and 22 hours ago…seems strange
Hopefully things are back up and running smooth for this weekend.
That is what makes me thing there messed up the upgrade. Killed their database (or some server/system) and had to fall back to a back up.
Let us know when you have IT job openings.
True but that still should have been identified fairly quickly, and backup should have been restored fairly quickly as well…Just assuming based on the little knowledge I have with IT
Restoration times depend on the size of data that is being restored. Assuming they have a large customer base and a huge database, it might take time. Also, after restoration it is good practice to do a good amount of testing that everything is good because customers will get more pissed off if the restoration is not good
The guy tweeting has no idea. He is just the guy doing the tweets.
Issue is if they think they will be up in 2 hours and something goes wrong. They look stupid like yesterday when they said 5 oclock.
Its a crap shoot. I am sure they are trying everything to get back up.
I figured they would devise a plan last night and start fresh today. With steps set out and planned… Longer issue goes. I am wondering if they dont have a plan and are still trying to figure it out (how to unwind yesterd2aus changes) . 36 hours and still down will tell me your out of luck for entire weekend.
I had some typos. But you get it…
It’s definitely possible. But this is a billion dollar company that is loosing money every minute they are down. I doubt they have a 3 person IT team that needs sleep and a fresh start, they have to much sensitive information and money on the line not to have a very large IT team working around the clock on this…
