2024 Elections

Did you think all that stimulus money the government gave away was for free??? We will be paying it back for the next 10 years. It doesn’t matter who is running the country. They only care about themselves -no matter if democrats or republicans- after the voting is over they forget about us

Stimulus certainly played a part ( and both Trump and Biden provided it )

There was also a confluence on worldwide events that contributed mightily like the chip shoryages and supply chain issues

Ultimately inflation was less here than everywhere else on the western world so its tough for me to get too upset about it with either Trump or Biden

They both did what was necessary at the time it was done

Just like Bovada lol. Give some free reward points for their way back outage and how did they end up getting it back? With Bovada style “inflation”

Of course it wasn’t. Neither is all the foodstamps, medicaid, and cash assistance that is being given to the illegal immigrants who haven’t worked a day in USA much less paid any taxes for it. Stimulus money is not what made my life better then. That money didn’t make anyone’s life better. Everyone blew that money in vacations and trips to the mall. I’m talking about my weekly income and what I was able to do with it.

I’m not interested in what the government can give me, I’m interested in them not taking from me. Trump is offering no taxes on overtime, no taxes on tips. That’s what’s going to help individuals make their lives better. Sure, it could be a lie. But during his last administration he did engage in doing everything he said he was going to do. So I’ll give him the benefit of the doubt. What does Kamala offer? Bigger child tax credit for us to have to pay later on (as we agree no money given bybthe government is free money) and a lousy 50k tax deduction to business startups which is a complete joke. No new small business needs such exception. Most startups have enough deductions to offset their losses for the first few years.

I’m voting for whoever is offering what makes sense. Getting our own gas, less taxes taken from us… these things make sense. Taxing big corporations at a higher rate is an old tune that’s playing on a scratched record. Neither party will do that. Democrats have never done it. They will not start now. The rich will be rich they way they have always been rich and we ain’t getting none of it. We just need to accept that. What we need is for the working class to be allowed to survive and have a chance at striving. Our education system to be restored to other than wasting time celebrating diversity and more actual education, our kids are graduating High School and can barely spell right.

OMG… talking about cost of gas, I’m at the gast station right now and gas finally down to 2.99!!! Didn’t think I’d ever see the day it was under $3 again. :upside_down_face::upside_down_face::upside_down_face:

When I said stimulus money I was thinking about all the big companies that got bailed out. That’s the problem that we’re afraid of the small fish in the ocean while the sharks are the actual dangerous ones. Imagine for a second United States Of America without any immigrants( legal and/or illegal ). Our country would be f…ed let’s face it. Economy would collapse instantly. Sorry but that’s the truth nowadays. Maybe it was different 30-40 years ago

Big companies are always getting bailed out. It never fails. And I think we can all agree that they’re the ones always moving the pieces on the board. What I personally think is that we have focused on them for way too long when we have no power against them. Voting Democrat nor Republican is going to fix this for us. Trump was clear when he debated Hillary and openly admitted he used the same tax loopholes they all use and no one will fix them because precisely, they all use them. So we do need to stop listening to the “we’re going to tax the big corporations” lie, because they’re simply just not going to do it. Instead, we need to focus on the policies that do affect our pockets directly. Detach our minds from the rich/poor war and this delusional romance that we’re all equals because we’re not.

One of the differences we need to address is that a legal immigrant is not equal to an illegal immigrant. I don’t need to imagine an America without immigrants because that will never ever be. Immigration has always existed and will always exist. Not only in America, but all around the world. But there is a reason why borders exist. We cannot just fantasize that we’re all loving, all giving to everyone in need because we’re going to collapse our own country in the pursuit of making everyone comfortable and happy. 30-40 years ago people wanted to come to the USA the same as they do today. But they came and mostly dedicated themselves to work hard and abide by the system. Nowadays people come in and want to plant flags and demand equal rights as born citizens of this nation. And it is being allowed because all you have to do in America now is throw a protest tantrum to get what you want.

Believe me when I tell you, I’d love nothing more than seeing my people come to this country and experience its greatness. But not at the price of destroying it and turning it into the very same place as the ones they’re coming from. I used to help people do their applications for benefits and other stuff. But then I observed what many of them did. They would get the benefits, get jobs under the table and live here with the assistance of the government while sending the dollars they were making right back to their country. The moment they got their papers in order the first thing they do is fly right back to their country to have fancy vacations. Then come right back here to live in their public housing, eat with the food stamps and keep their doctors appointments with their Medicaid. Still working under the table not paying a penny in taxes. I completely stopped helping them.

I think it’s interesting how some think it doesn’t matter who the president is.
And most of the time, I agree. But this time is different. Why? Because if
Harris wins, the supreme court will be expanded & the new justices will all
be leftists who will side with the majority of laws that will continue their woke
agenda. And all the illegals who are in the country will be given immunity and
will be eligible for US citizenship in 5 years. And that means that all who were
transported to the election “swing” states will now vote democrat from now on.

As for the economy if Harris wins, imo it’ll be a disaster. She says she will make the
rich & big companies pay their fair share. Sounds great but those companies are
the ones that create jobs. Look at what happened when states raised the minimum
wage to extreme levels. Many small businesses went out of business & employees
were laid off. And many of the large companies have been reducing their workforce
for the past 2 years. John Deere not only closed a few manufacturing facilities & laid
workers off, they’ve announced they’re moving a large production facility to, Mexico.
Why? Cheaper labor costs. But yet, the media continues to tell us how great the
economy is doing.

As for Harris, when she ran in the primary back in 2020 against Joe, she only got 7%
of the vote in here home state of California. And soon after, she QUIT. And yet, she was
installed as the VP. Same thing happened with her being the democrat presidential
nominee. No votes. That’s not democracy.

So imo, election day next week will be the biggest day ever, in all of our lives.
Will the country end up continuing down the rabbit hole with open borders,
threats of nuclear war, woke agendas, the b s green new deal & men competing
in womens sports? Or, will the extreme left agenda train be forced off of the tracks
and the country can start the process of being productive, safer & some sense
of normalcy?

This started as a conversation on gambling on the electiion. Why so many words people?

I have trump at even money. Now he is -200. Good luck to me. Lol

They’ll never be able to expand the court buddy

That’s just red meat fodder for the base

You need a Constitutional amendment to do that which requires a 2/3 vote in congress which will never occur

The economy is going to do what it does regardless of who’s in power. Its a self sustaining entity at this point

Federal laws only impact who marginally benefits more from the economy fluctuating as it will regardless of who’s in power

Like as an example in 47

Every R President in my lifetime has been in office when a recession started. All of them

No D President has

Does that mean i inherently think Ds are better for the economy? If have every reason to.

But i don’t

Its just timing of the economic cycles

It truly is irrelevant who is in the WH economically. History tells us that with a cursory look at trends

Its almost certain there will be a recession in the next 3 years and that’s based on history not who wins the Presidency

Im proud of everyone for remaining cordial lol

It’s refreshing

Very true… My money would not have been on that. Lol

I think we’ve already been in a recent recession since the old
definition of a rec. was 2 consecutive quarters of lowered GDP.
We’ve already had that. But, they changed the requirements
and revised the #'s. Just like they’ve done on just about every
job report. Look at the revised #'s from todays report.
And I’m not a dem or repub supporter. I have always voted for
who I think will do the best job. So, party affiliation aside, my business
and personal finances were way better between 2016-2020.
I will be voting for Trump this time around also.
And sure, he’s made many mistakes & his approach isn’t always presidential.
But, I’m not gonna vote for a candidate who’s campaign is mainly based on
blaming the previous administration. Joe & crew has had 4 years of running
the show. Blaming Trump every single day accomplishes nothing when it
comes to announcing your future policies that might help solve problems.
And imo, anyone who thinks the country was better off with this current admin
over when Trump was president, isn’t being honest with themselves.
I live by a small town, population 2300. The debacle at the borders has let in
20 million people. Think about that, 20 mil. You want another 4 years of that?
Especially when the taxpayers are footing the majority of the bill?
I have no problem with anyone coming to this country for a better life and more
opportunities. But, it should be done legally.

Anyone have any idea why the odds shifted from Kamala +170 to +145 over night? Did new polls come out?

Could be the value is on Harris. So more money been coming in on her just based on value.

Smart money coming in… we all know she’s going to win. It’s close but it’s obvious

You honestly think nobody came in illegally under Trump?? Trump had 4 years to fix the border issue and never did. Let’s be honest and look at the facts

Smart money and Kamala. Lol. Never heard kamala and smart.

So glad this almost over.

Pretty easy. If polls are slanted like 2016 and 2020. Trump wins in landslide.

If polls are on the money. Trump wins.

If as the dems say polls are overcompensating and 4% off with dems. Kamala wins

We will see

My words were to explain why I think Trump is going to win. Which is basically that I think (I have no statistics on this) there are many Democrats converted to Republicans as opposed to no Republicans (or very few) converted to Democrats.

I have Trump when it was +100. I kind of wish I had put a lot more than I did. I just put a bit to be able to say I won my bet post election

Illegal immigration has always been and will always be. It cannot be stopped by either administration. That’s just not realistic. What we should expect from our government is that they will make it harder for more illegal immigrants to come in. Not because we’re inhumane in this country. But for the simple fact that we will not be able to sustain having millions of people coming in and be provided benefits needed for basic living from money that we need for our own citizens’ basic living.
